We visited Plantentuin Meise with the kids, and it was so much fun! I’m happy to share a few tips on how to make this trip completely kid-proof, because the Botanic Garden is huge. Truly unbelievable. We’re now back home with legs that can’t take another step, but at least I know how you can do it better 🙂 Enjoy!

So: you’re heading to the Botanic Garden with kids in tow. How do you tackle it?
The best tips for visiting Plantentuin Meise with children
That the Botanic Garden is gigantic is no exaggeration. For younger visitors, bring a stroller or rent a wagon on site.
The ideal route to follow is: Island Garden, Bouchout Castle, Green Ark, Plant Palace. There is also a play forest and a barefoot path, but these are rather small and not equally fun in every season. This route, however, is always a winner 🙂
Still have time and energy left? Return the wagon at the entrance and take the little train to explore the rest of the gardens. Unfortunately, it was out of order during our visit, but it’s such a great way to see a lot of the garden without having to walk endlessly.
And last but not least: bring a picnic! You’re allowed to bring a picnic blanket and settle down almost anywhere. Perfect for taking a break while the kids keep running around.
The Botanic Garden in Meise is another outing we did using our museum pass 🙂 Here you’ll find an overview of all the trips we’ve taken with our museum pass, and here you can read whether the museum pass was worth the money for us.
Have fun on your outing!
