Restaurants in Antwerp: the tastiest places to eat

Are you looking for a delicious place to eat? Look no further. In this blog, I’m sharing my favorite restaurants in Antwerp. These are my go-to spots in Antwerp where I eat until I have to unbutton my jeans 🙂. All the places on this list have excellent vegetarian options. Enjoy!

Hi! I’m Helena, a Belgian mom traveling (and eating) across Europe with my family. On this blog, I share our favorite food spots, cultural gems, and tips for enjoying Europe with kids.

Nuoc Mam

Honestly, I’d rather you didn’t eat here. In this small restaurant you can enjoy amazing Vietnamese food, and I’d like there to be a table left for me when I visit. So whatever you do, don’t go to this cozy spot in Antwerp Zuid, where the food is so good you’re already planning your next visit while you’re still eating. I know I do — whenever I go out with someone, I almost always suggest Nuoc Mam. And my tablemates often tell me they came back with other friends because they loved it so much.

Nuoc Mam is a top spot. If you go, you must try the bun. You’ll leave not only with a full belly, but also having had a healthy meal. Enjoy!

Spritz

Spritz is an Italian restaurant with a special twist: everything on the menu is vegan. And the craziest part? If you didn’t know, you wouldn’t even notice.

You can eat “calamari” made from mushrooms, pasta with cheesy sauces, and even cheeses that taste more like cheese than real cheese. Still with me?

This is another place where I love to bring friends, who then go on to tell others about it. That’s how you know it’s good 🙂

De Bomma

De Bomma is a restaurant serving authentic Flemish dishes — the kind my mom often makes when the whole family gets together. Think beef stew, oven-baked chicory, mussels…

If you want to get to know classic Flemish cuisine, this is the place to be. Even the interior looks like you’ve just walked into grandma’s house. A true gem!

Otomat

Otomat might seem a bit unusual in this list of Antwerp restaurants, since it has now become quite a chain. But I still think it’s well worth a visit. The menu offers anything but ordinary pizzas. Think pizzas topped with nachos, zucchini ribbons, or vol-au-vent. All on a crispy base and served in a cozy setting.
